PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT:
Denis Mccarthy – Denis Mccarthy received his Masters in Applied Psychology (Occupational) from Murdoch University in 1996. He is President and CEO of SMC. He conducts numerous workforce management workshops and seminars in employee involvement and empowerment, team building, managing change, customer service, dealing with emotions at work, improving communication skills and interpersonal relations. Most of his training efforts involve one, two, or three day workshops as well as one-on-one consulting. Before consulting, he previously worked in a number of management positions including state manager of Clivus Multrum Australia, Caliper Corporation, Permaculture Consultancy and Institute. From 1981 until 1994 he managed NAM Distribution, a successful wellness marketing company, . He has been state manger of Wilson Banwell Pty Ltd, a global human resources consulting company, since 1997.
He has provided consulting and workshops for, among others: Alcoa Australia; Banque Nationale De Paris; BP Australia; Barclay Mowlem Construction Ltd; Placer Dome Asia Pacific (Giold Mining); Transfield Corporation;and has worked for several shire councils, state and federal government departments and their agencies, and the three main universities in Western Australia. Most of his training activities deal with conflict resolution, team building, leadership, performance appraisal and organizational change.
